Creating a Website

The website connection form

Note: Only Level 1 System Administrators are able to create a new website.

Creating a website to be maintained is simple. Click on the "Add a New Site" link on the left of the control panel. You will then be taken to the website connection information. Fill out the form completely (the Custom CP URL is optional). Once you fill in the FTP and MySQL information into the correct fields, you can test to make sure that the control panel will be able to FTP & MySQL connect to your new site by clicking the "Test" button for each respectively. If you are not able to connect, please make sure that you have filled in the information correctly.

Note: If you do set a Custom CP URL, make SURE that it is a mirror of your actual Splash Frog Control Panel domain, otherwise if your site is set to display the link-back, the URL will not work.

When filling out the FTP information, please provide the FULL FTP Directory path to where you want the site files to go to, otherwise your site may not display properly.

Once you have verified that the connection is made, the system will then FTP the necessary system files and folders into the FTP Directory that you have specified, and also create the site database. The system prefix's your sites with a preset prefix that increments with each new site you add to the system, so you can have multiple websites running from one database.

Note: It is NOT recommended running multiple Splash Frog system instance websites from the same database, as the site tables will overwrite each other.

Once the FTP of the site system files and folders, and the site Database creation has been completed, you will then be able to go into your websites' new Dashboard, where you can customize your site.

Modifying a Website

Note: Only Level 1 System Administrators are able to modify a website's connection information.

To modify the connection information for a website, simply hover over the menu icon next to the site you want to modify, and its dropdown menu will appear. Click on the "Update Site Info" to begin updating the site information. Once you have updated the site connection information, the system will then FTP connect and update the website's system files and folders, ensuring that they are still in the proper FTP Directory and that they are the latest version.

Updating a Website's Core Files

Note: Only Level 1 & Level 2 System Administrators are able to update the CMS Core Files.

If you have upgraded your version of Splash Frog, it is usually recommended that you update your website's system files as well, ensuring that any security or enhancements from the new version are put out into your existing websites. To begin the update, simply hover over the menu icon next to the site you want to update, and its dropdown menu will appear. Click on the "Update CMS Core Files" to begin the updating of the core files. A confirmation box will appear, and click the "Update" button to update the website's system files. The system will FTP connect to your website and push out the new website system file's, overwriting any existing files (your configuration files, webpages, etc. will still be in-tact).

Deleting a Website

Note: Only Level 1 System Administrators are able to modify a website's connection information.

If you need to permanently delete a website from Splash Frog, simply hover over the menu icon next to the website you want to delete, and its dropdown menu will appear. Click on the "Delete Site" to begin the deletion of the website. A confirmation window appear, and click the "Delete" button to start the deletion of the website.

Note: This will permanently delete the website information from the Splash Frog Control Panel System, as well as all database tables associated with that website. Once you click the "Delete" button, that website's information is gone, FOREVER!
