Overview
The Menu Manager built within Splash Frog makes it easy for you as the administrator to keep your menu links up-to-date and to organize and create the different menu's your website might need.
The Menu Manager is broken down into two main sections: Menu Links and Menu Groups. The premise is that you create all of the menu links, and then you take the individual links and put them into groups. It is then those groups that are added to the template or webpage custom area's.
Menu Links
The menu links is what you need to build first before you can create a menu group. Within the menu link area, you are able to create a new menu link, edit existing links, delete existing links, and also view the link information as well as what menu groups are using that menu link.
When you create or edit a menu link, you specify the text that the link will show, what the URL of the link will be, how will the link open (in the current window or a new window) and if you want, any subtext you want for that link. Splash Frog makes it easy for you to create the menu link to your webpage by giving you the administrator a "Browse Server" button. By clicking the button, a window will appear showing you the directory structure and the files you have access to. To select the file you want, simply click on its name. To go into a folder to see its contents click on its name. You can backtrack using the folder path at the top of the file table. You can also type in the URL that you want the link to go to (Example: http://www.google.com).
Menu Groups
The menu groups is where you organize and structure just how you want your menu's to look like using the menu links that you've created. When you go to create or edit a menu link, you will be given the area to name your group and also check if the group is active to be used within a template or webpage area. Also, depending on your website template, the name you give to your menu group can be shown as the "title" for the menu area on your website. This is all dependent if the template creator has constructed the visual menu layout of your site to utilize this function or not.
The next section is where you construct your menu link order. Select the menu link you want from the drop down box and click the "Add to List" button. You will see the menu link that you've selected added to the bottom of the list. Continue to add in all of the menu links you want for that menu. If you need to remove a link, simply click the "Remove" button in the row of the menu link you wish to remove from the list.
Another think you can do is also make a link a sub-link of another. To do this, add the links you want and have them in the order you want. Then, click the "Child" icon next to the link you want to make a sub-link. This will then put a green arrow in front of the link text. This tells the system that that link is a sub-link of the link above it. Any links that are made sub-links and are on the same level will be considered a sub-link of the link that is one level "up" of those links.
Splash Frog allows you to make as many links as sub-links and even make sub-sub-links as you want, leaving the restriction only on the template designer to specify just how many sub-link levels will be visible.
