Overview of the Administrator's Table

The administrative structure is broken down into three main levels:

  • Level 1 - System Administrator - System Administrator's are the highest level of administrators. They have full access to every aspect of the Splash Frog System. You must at all times have at least one System Administrator account active within the system.
  • Level 2 - Site Administrator - Site Administrator's are the 2nd level of administrators. When assigned to a website, they have full control over every aspect within that website's dashboard. They are also able to add new administrators on the system level, but to only the websites that they have access to and only at a level 2 or level 3.
  • Level 3 - Administrators - Administrators are the last level of administrators. They must be assigned to a website, and then to an administrative group that is within that website. (See Admin Groups for details). Level 3 Administrators do not have much system permissions, and are only granted the permissions set within the website's administrative groups. In order to complete a Level 3 Administrator, the websites that you select for the administrator must have available administrative groups to be selectable.

Splash Frog will allow you to assign multiple websites and an administrative group from those websites to a single administrator. This way, you do not need to create for one person multiple accounts to manage the websites within Splash Frog.

Example: John Doe is in charge of Mary's Online Boutique, as well as Dave's Hardware. He is only to be updating the content of the websites, so he is given an account that is a Level 3. Then he is assigned to the websites within the system "Mary's Online Boutique" and "Dave's Hardware". Being a Level 3, he is also assigned the administrative group "Content Keeper" that is from "Mary's Online Boutique" available administrative groups and "Publisher" from "Dave's Hardware" available administrative groups. Now when John Doe logs into Splash Frog, he will have access to both of those websites' dashboards, and will have the administrative permissions set by their selected administrative groups.

If you only have one Level 1 System Administrator, you will not be able to change its Administrative level.

Administrative Account Information

Creating an Administrator from the System Level
Creating an Administrator from the Website Level

When creating or updating an administrative account, you should be aware of some of the information needed:

  • Username - The username is required and must be alpha-numeric characters only. Also, all of your usernames must be unique from each other.
  • Password - The password must be at least 4 characters long.
  • Email - The email address you provide must be a valid email address. Also, all of the email address' registered within Splash Frog must be unique from each other.
  • Administration Settings - If you are adding or modifying an administrator from the System level, you must select what level the user is going to be (System Administrator, Site Administrator, or Administrator). If the administrator is a Level 2 or 3, then you must also select the website and / or administrative group. If you are adding an administrator on the website level, the administrator will automatically be made a Level 3 Administrator, and you must select what administrative group they will belong to.
  • Account Active - You can check to make the account active for use, or uncheck it to disable it. If there is only one Level 1 System Administrator, you will not be able to disable that account.

Additional options you can set include:

  • Opt Out - You can check if the administrator is not going to receive emails from the Splash Frog system.
  • First & Last Names - You can also specify the Administrator's First and Last names, making it easier for other Administrators recognize each other.

Deleting an Administrator

You can delete an Administrator from either the System or Website Level. If you delete an Administrator from the Website Level, it will remove that Administrator from that particular website.

If there is only one Level 1 System Administrator, you will not be able to delete that account.

Administrative History

Splash Frog keeps a record of your Administrator's history: Where they've been, what sites, and for how long. You can review the history for each Administrator by selecting the "View History" from the Administrator's Menu Options. If you ever do need to delete the Administrator's History, you can by clicking the "Clear History" option in the side menu. (Note: This is available only for Level 1 System Administrators on the System Level.)
